You can also apply directly by submitting your CV and Cover letter to careers@infinityfiction.ai The Role We’re seeking an entrepreneurial engineer who will work closely with the founders to build and scale the world’s first Living World RPG, and ushers in the next generation of role playing games. This is a backend, product engineering role with the additional ownership that comes with being among our initial engineering team. You'll play a fundamental role in shaping both the product and Infinity Fiction as a company. Responsibilities: Especially in your first year, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our product and backend engineering practices: Work closely with our architect to design and implement the backend services, while ensuring seamless integration and data exchange with frontend and AI systemsCollaborate with our frontend team to build APIs that will serve the Infinity Fiction platform.Develop and maintain reusable, modular, and scalable backend APIs using modern python frameworks and libraries, and Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of technical standards and best practicesMentor junior engineers and provide guidance on frontend development best practicesStay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and trends, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our platform What You’ll Need: Proven experience in backend development, with a strong focus on Python modern backend frameworks and libraries (FastAPI, Django, etc.)Strong understanding of application architecture (layered architecture, ports and adapters, clean architecture, etc.)Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-based architectures.Expertise with backend testing methodologies and tools (unit/functional/e2e/contract testing).Proven experience in working on projects from scratch, being part of a project from ideation to completion.Proven experience working in cross-functional teams, with strong communication and collaboration skills and an ability to foster a positive and productive team culture.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.Nice to have: Experience with Langchain or LlamaindexExperience with Vector storageExperience with RAG style applicationsExperience with graph storage and/or Neo4jWhat We Offer: Remote-first work.Opportunity to work on a revolutionary product that has the potential to revolutionize the games development industry.Small team of highly motivated, independent and intelligent people.At the moment we are in start-up mode and unfortunately, we can’t offer salaries at this time but we have developed excellent founder packages.Massive learning opportunity and a high degree of autonomy.Explosive career growth by getting in early at a fast growing startup.
