Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development > Software Product Delivery and Security Software Product Delivery and Security is the platform engineering and DevOps enablement team at Vestas, responsible for building, running, and evolving the Internal Developer Platform - the shared infrastructure, tooling, and practices that hundreds of application developers across multiple product domains rely on to develop, deliver, and operate their software deliveries. We supply the platform that our engineers ship from every day, and the building blocks and integrations that support their CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational practices in close collaboration with the development teams. We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineering Specialist to join our internal platform engineering team, where you’ll take deep technical ownership of the most complex parts of our Internal Developer Platform and shape how it evolves. This is a role for someone who has seen how platforms succeed and fail at scale and knows what it takes to build and run one that doesn’t get in the way. We are a small, tight-knit team split between Aarhus, Denmark and Porto, Portugal. Everyone owns a real domain and works with a high degree of professionalism, but we stay closely aligned and take each other’s problems seriously. Responsibilities Own the architecture and long-term technical direction for core platform capabilities — Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, secrets management, and source code hosting Manage and deliver complex platform migrations and major technical initiatives end-to-end, from design through productionSet platform-wide standards and engineering practices and promote their adoption across development teamsAct as the primary technical authority on platform decisions, balancing reliability, security, and developer experience Represent the platform in cross-team architecture forums and align on technical direction with senior engineering stakeholders Identify systemic risks and implement proactive platform improvements before they escalate into incidentsMentor and grow mid-level team members through code review, pairing, and architectural discussions Qualifications 7+ years of practical experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering in production environmentsDeep experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management, network configuration, RBAC, storage, workload control, and resolving large-scale problemsExperience designing, operating, and evolving CI/CD pipelines in large engineering organizations (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent)Extensive infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, Helm, and GitOps workflows such as Argo CD or FluxExperience running shared platforms that serve large, diverse engineering organisations — including operating with high reliability and low friction for end users Experience with progressive delivery patterns (canary, blue/green, feature flags) and GitOps at scale Familiarity with OPA/Gatekeeper or similar policy enforcement tooling Practical experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, OpenTelemetry)Experience with secrets management at scale (Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault, external-secrets) Competencies Platform Engineering & Technical Excellence - Demonstrates solid platform engineering practices across cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, reliability, and security.
