DevOps Engineer

About the Role CenCore Group is seeking a skilled DevOps / Cloud Engineer specializing in automation and continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD). The successful candidate will design, automate, deploy, and secure cloud-based software environments that support reliable and scalable applications. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and security teams to build repeatable infrastructure, improve deployment workflows, and establish secure cloud environments. The role places a strong emphasis on AWS, infrastructure as code, containerization, Kubernetes, reliability, security, and governance. This is a full-time onsite position supporting national security workloads. Responsibilities Design and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.Develop and automate CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.Build repeatable infrastructure and deployment workflows.Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.Deploy and manage cloud-based applications and services.Work with AWS services to build and maintain production environments.Develop and maintain containerized application environments.Deploy and manage workloads using Kubernetes.Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational processes.Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate development and deployment workflows.Partner with operations teams to improve system reliability and performance.Work with security teams to implement secure infrastructure and deployment practices.Monitor cloud environments and identify potential performance or reliability issues.Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application issues.Establish and maintain cloud governance and security standards.Improve deployment efficiency, consistency, and scalability.Support national security workloads while maintaining required security controls. Required Qualifications Professional experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or a related infrastructure role.Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).Strong experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC).Practical experience with containerization technologies.Hands-on Kubernetes experience.Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment practices.Experience with automation and scripting.Understanding of cloud security and governance principles.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and security teams.Strong understanding of reliability and scalable infrastructure practices.Ability to work onsite and support mission-critical workloads. Preferred Skills Experience with AWS cloud services and architecture.Experience with Kubernetes cluster administration and workload deployment.Familiarity with Docker or similar container technologies.Experience with Terraform or comparable IaC platforms.Knowledge of Git-based development and deployment workflows.Experience with automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.Knowledge of cloud monitoring and observability tools.Understanding of DevSecOps practices.Experience implementing security controls within cloud environments.Familiarity with compliance and governance requirements for sensitive workloads.Strong scripting skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
