Software Engineer

We are hiring a Software Developer to support a major technology modernization initiative for a leading building materials retailer. This individual will join the IT Deployment Team and help design, build, and support applications and internal tools used across the organization. This is a hands-on role working primarily with Python, Angular, relational databases, and Jenkins. The Developer will partner closely with Business Analysts and Deployment Specialists to support software launches, troubleshoot technical issues, and build solutions that improve deployment processes and ongoing business operations. Responsibilities Provide technical support during software deployments across business locationsEnsure software, infrastructure, and database installations are completed successfullyTroubleshoot application issues reported by users and deployment team membersIdentify larger technical concerns and escalate them to the appropriate development teamsManage and support relational databases containing configuration, operational, and deployment-tracking informationAnalyze and interpret data to help resolve deployment and application issuesPartner with Business Analysts to turn workflow needs into technical solutionsBuild demos, training tools, and other resources for end usersDevelop and maintain Python-based back-end services and APIsMaintain Angular front-end applications used by employees and internal teamsBuild and support Jenkins jobs for software deployments, log retrieval, analysis, and related processesWrite clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviewsAssist with testing, QA, and validation throughout deployment cyclesContribute to future applications as the modernization program continues to grow Preferred Qualifications Professional development experience with Python and AngularExperience working with relational databases and interpreting application dataExperience with JenkinsFamiliarity with Git and CI/CD pipelinesExperience supporting software deployments and troubleshooting application issuesExposure to enterprise application implementations or large-scale technology rollouts is a plusExperience with warehouse, inventory, distribution, or retail technology is a plusPrevious experience supporting a building materials or retail environment is a plusStrong communication skills and the ability to work across development, business analysis, and deployment teams
