Synopsis Are you a commercially minded Product Owner who enjoys turning customer needs, data opportunities and product ideas into practical solutions? About Sum Insured Sum Insured provides calculators and data solutions to many of Australia and New Zealand’s leading home and contents insurers. Our products support insurers to deliver reliable, data-informed outcomes for their customers. About The Role Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, Insurance & Banking, you will take ownership of the Sum Insured product backlog and help deliver the product roadmap. You will work with customers, partners, stakeholders and development teams to turn ideas into clear requirements, prioritised work and valuable product outcomes. What You’ll Do Collaborate with insurance and insurtech customers and partners to understand needs and define product requirements. Own, prioritise and manage the product development backlog for data products and services. Write clear user stories and support effective planning and delivery across releases. Work with geographically dispersed product and technology teams to bring ideas to life. Use product metrics, customer feedback and data requirements to identify opportunities for improvement. Balance customer outcomes, commercial value and technical feasibility throughout the product lifecycle. What You’ll Bring Experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in a product development environment. Strong capability in writing user stories, managing backlogs and prioritising requirements. Sound technical acumen, including an understanding of systems, data and integrations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bring people together. Confidence working with developers to explore options, trade-offs and practical solutions. Experience in agile and/or DevOps environments. A curious, proactive mindset and the confidence to challenge how things are done. Experience in insurance, insurtech or a related sector will be highly regarded.
