Job Title: Full Stack Software Engineer Location: Leeds/Hybrid Salary: £70,000 - £100,000 per annum + benefits Why Apply? Software Engineer Responsibilities Design, build and maintain scalable applications, backend services and APIsWork across the full software development lifecycle, from technical discovery and design through to delivery and productionDevelop robust, production-ready solutions using modern engineering practicesWork across a range of client environments, technologies and technical challengesApply clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and other modern engineering principlesBuild and integrate AI-enabled features, including LLM-powered services, RAG and agent-based workflows where appropriateUse AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor or similar to improve engineering productivityDevelop internal tools and reusable components to improve delivery and developer efficiencyWork closely with clients, product, data and platform teams to deliver effective technical solutionsEvaluate new technologies and approaches, adopting them where they provide clear valueSoftware Engineer Requirements Essential: Strong software engineering experience building and maintaining production systemsSolid understanding of system design, scalability, and performance considerationsExperience developing backend services and APIs in modern tech stacksExposure to, or strong interest in, AI technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), including API integrations or prompt-based workflowsExperience leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI-assisted engineering workflows.Proficiency in at least two modern programming languagesExperience with version control, testing practices, and CI/CD pipelinesStrong collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional teamsDesirable: Experience integrating AI into production systems (e.g. chat interfaces, automation, intelligent search)Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, or embeddingsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)Awareness of emerging AI tooling (e.g. MCP, A2A, Threads or similar)Open-source contributions or side projects, particularly involving scalable systems or AIThis role is best suited to software engineers who enjoy building reliable, scalable systems and are interested in applying AI to enhance real-world products and platforms.
