Role Description The Senior Data Engineer is a newly created opportunity in our Cyber and Information Security Business Unit based at our Central Park office in Perth. The main purpose of this role is to build, optimise, and operationalise scalable data pipelines that enable Synergy’s most critical data and analytics initiatives. Acting as a key interface between business units and technical teams, the Senior Data Engineer ensures curated, high-quality data is delivered to analysts, data scientists, and other consumers, while promoting effective data management practices and driving impactful analytics solutions. Job Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and optimise scalable batch and streaming data pipelines, data warehouses, and ETL solutions.Ensure data platforms, pipelines, and models meet performance, reliability, security, and data quality standards.Develop and deploy scalable, business-ready data models that support analytics and decision-making.Drive data governance practices, including data quality, security, master data, metadata management, and automated data-driven improvements.Promote data literacy, champion best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement and innovation across analytics and information management capabilities. What You Will Bring Qualification in computer science, engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, database administration, business intelligence, data architecture or related field.5-7 years professional experience in a business intelligence, modelling, analytics or data engineering roleProven experience working with data pipelines, ingestion or ETL processesProven experience developing a data lake or data warehouseProven experience supporting a data science function through preparation/munging of data So, what's it like working for Synergy?
