Description
Mid-Weight Shopify Developer
Haslo | Manchester (Hybrid) | £40,000–£45,000
About Haslo
We're a Manchester-based eCommerce agency specialising in Shopify development and paid media for premium Fashion, Beauty and Jewellery brands.
We've grown 40% net year-on-year for two consecutive years, with 100% of our work coming through referrals.
We're small, profitable, and building something with real momentum.
The Opportunity
We're hiring a Mid-Weight Shopify Developer to own development delivery across our client portfolio.
You won't be a cog in a ticket queue - you'll be running builds, features and fixes for established brands with genuine autonomy from day one, working directly with the founder.
In line with modern AI development, we use Claude Code to turn around client requirements at pace - while making sure everything we ship meets our standards for coding style, languages and structure.
We want someone who genuinely cares about their code and their work, but who also knows how to integrate AI - Claude Code or other tooling - into their day-to-day to make client work better and deliver it efficiently.
This is an early hire into a growing team, and you'd have real influence over how we build the development function - our tooling, our standards, and eventually the people who join after you.
There's a genuine leadership path here, not just a title bump down the road.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain Shopify themes for high-end eCommerce clients - custom Liquid sections, performance work, third-party integrations, and app configuration.
Use Claude and Claude Code as part of your daily workflow to move faster and take on more ambitious work.
Scope and deliver features end-to-end, communicating directly with clients where needed.
Shape how we scale development at Haslo - the processes, the tooling, and the team.
Run and direct A/B tests with the wider Haslo team and client teams on client stores, improving performance, conversion rates and site behaviour consistently to help our clients grow.
Help develop more AI infrastructure into the business alongside the founder to help us make processes more efficient, and give the whole team a clearer view over the business, what's on, and where we're going.
What We're Looking For
Essential: Solid commercial Shopify development experience - Liquid, theme architecture, JavaScript and CSS.
Hands-on experience with Claude, and Claude Code as part of your day-to-day development workflow.
A track record of shipping quality work independently, not just closing tickets.
Highly valued: Backend development experience.
Exposure to Vercel, Cloudflare, WordPress or Webflow.
Comfort across the wider stack - APIs, integrations, tracking.
Ambition beyond the day-to-day of theme work.
Why Haslo?
Flexibility and autonomy - flexible hours (start 8–10am, finish 4–6pm), genuine ownership of your projects and your development.
Hybrid working - 3 days in our Manchester city centre office, 2 days remote.
Premium clients - established brands that invest properly in their eCommerce.
Clients that stay - over 90% of our site builds become retainer clients.
Our retainer clients have an average lifespan of over 3 years with us.
Growth - you'll be one of the first hires, with direct influence over how we build the team and the services.
Small team, big exposure - you'll learn fast because you'll be hands-on with everything.
Fail fast, learn faster.
Package
£40,000–£45,000 depending on experience.
25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
Flexible working.

Clear path into team leadership.
