Invest in us and we’ll invest in you! Job Description Version 1 are one of a handful of AWS Premier Consulting Partners, which is the highest tier of AWS Partnership available. You will be working for the AWS Practice which consists of experienced Architects, DevOps Engineers and Consultants. The customer engagements are varied and the exposure to modern technologies is always present. You will work in a mixture of teams to deliver solutions to major customers across Europe. Version 1 invests in its people and you will be supported to take Associate, Professional and Specialty certifications and additional training that is relevant to your role. We have a successful learning and development programme that provides opportunities to undertake training and certifications through the learning platform of your choice. As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Architect, you will assist in implementing and supporting large-scale cloud implementations on AWS. Other duties include architecting and implementing cloud solutions for different applications, automating cloud operations and cloud deployments. Responsibilities Improve cloud capability by creating and implementing cloud application patternsDesign and implement approaches to move applications and workloads to the cloudWork closely with business leads and product owners to understand solution requirements and identify architectural patternsMonitor compliance of cloud resources against industry guardrails and best practicesResearch and propose solutions for AWS data transformation, data connections, operational frameworks and application integrationWork closely with lead architects and engineers to create and maintain architectural templates and operational artefactsWork with DevOps and engineering teams to develop solutionsContribute to proposals through technical expertiseShare technical expertise and guidance across the organisation Qualifications Essential Criteria Experience & Cloud Architecture 5–7 years of hands-on experience working with AWS CloudProven experience working as an AWS ArchitectDemonstrable experience conducting AWS Well-Architected Framework Reviews Cloud Platforms & Kubernetes Proven experience designing, building, deploying and operating production-grade EKS/Kubernetes clustersExperience delivering highly regulated, secure, scalable, multi-tenant platformsDemonstrated understanding of secure-by-design cloud architectures DevOps / DevSecOps Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps methodologiesExperience implementing fully automated CI/CD pipelines, specifically using GitHub ActionsHands-on experience embedding security controls throughout the delivery pipeline Infrastructure & Automation Infrastructure as Code experience using TerraformExperience using Helm ChartsProficiency in Python and Bash scriptingHands-on Linux experience (RHEL, CentOS) Preferred Criteria Certifications AWS Certifications at Associate and/or Professional level Security & Engineering Security engineering experience and awarenessPrevious hands-on engineering backgroundExperience with CDK, TypeScript and/or advanced Terraform usage Software Development Experience with at least one software development language such as: PythonNode.jsJava.NET Collaboration & Development Experience keeping up to date with modern cloud technologiesExperience mentoring or supporting the development of colleaguesExperience working effectively within collaborative engineering teams Additional Information At Version 1, we believe in providing our employees with a comprehensive benefits package that prioritises their wellbeing, professional growth, and financial stability.
