Our technology prioritizes interpretability, revisability, and generality, allowing for safe and efficient adaptation to a changing world. We prioritize AI safety by focusing on interpretability in order to unlock capabilities safely. Responsibilities Make contributions to critical components in the development of a distributed reasoning system.Take ownership over specific Engineering artifacts such as services or libraries.Help create a system that truly understands programming languages. Qualifications Experience At least 5 years of experience in Software Engineering.Hands-on experience in distributed systems, AI, AAA game development, or scalable web technology.Work experience in startups. Technical Skills Proficiency in Rust/C++/C, Python, a bit of TypeScriptExperience in building backends.Experience with concurrency and threading.Knowledge of a modern web UI framework.Experience with containerization frameworks such as Docker.Experience with graph data structures and algorithms. Educational Background Degrees in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline. Soft Skills Proactive mindset to stay updated with the latest advancements in AI.Fluent in conversational and written business English (C1+).Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Experience working using Agile framework. About The Company Noeon Research is an ambitious deep-tech startup based in Tokyo working on a novel natively agentic AI system with general capabilities. Our approach is based on carefully selected principles from mathematical category theory, discrete knowledge representation, and computational linguistics. Practical applications of our system will include software engineering, enterprise automation, scientific research and industrial design. We are open to hiring and collaboration. What We Are Offering Competitive Salary: Depending on the candidate's skill level, our target salary range is 14-17M JPY per year and equity compensation (options).Flexible Schedule: Outside scheduled team meetings, teammates are free to work on their tasks independently. When to work is a personal choice. Just do not overwork – that is inefficient.Autonomy: High autonomy is crucial for us – the small and agile team can achieve a breakthrough if its members are professional and independent.
