About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Application Developer with a DevOps mindset to join our team on a 12-month contract basis. This role is based in London with hybrid working arrangements or remote options within the UK. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting nationally critical public sector infrastructure, focusing on environment management, development, and maintenance of applications, as well as Java feature development and testing. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in configuring infrastructure and applications with Ansible, demonstrating a solid understanding of automation and environment management. Additionally, confidence in UNIX administration, including Bash scripting and managing RHEL environments, is required. Experience with Behave or Cucumber for testing purposes is also necessary. A background in supporting development and testing within a collaborative team environment is highly desirable. Candidates must be UK citizens with at least five years of residency in the UK and currently based within the country. Responsibilities In this role, you will configure and support infrastructure, middleware, and applications using Ansible, ensuring environments are stable and performant. You will develop and maintain solutions leveraging Python and AWS cloud services, contributing to the automation and scalability of platforms. Supporting CI/CD pipelines through GitLab is a key aspect of your responsibilities, enabling efficient and reliable deployment processes. You will carry out UNIX administration tasks, including scripting with Bash, to support daily operational needs. Working with RHEL operating systems, you will ensure the environments remain secure and optimized.
