About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Engineer specializing in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and Kubernetes environments to join our team.
In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, operating, and optimizing modern private cloud platforms and related services that support the digital infrastructure of the Bundeswehr.
Your primary responsibilities will include managing Kubernetes-based environments, automating deployment and operational processes, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our cloud platforms.
You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams, contributing your expertise to enhance platform capabilities and implement innovative solutions.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a completed degree, vocational training, or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.
A minimum of five years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or System Engineering is required.
Practical expertise in operating and managing Kubernetes environments is essential, along with strong proficiency in Linux system administration.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, and a solid background in building and maintaining infrastructure within data centers or cloud environments.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps tools such as Git is crucial.
Additionally, familiarity with networking, storage, and server technologies, as well as excellent communication skills in German and good command of English, are necessary to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities will include developing, operating, and continuously improving private cloud platforms and associated services.
You will manage the setup, automation, and ongoing development of Kubernetes-based environments, ensuring they are stable, secure, and high-performing in line with DevOps principles.
The role involves automating deployment processes, operational workflows, and infrastructure management using modern tools, fostering a culture of automation and efficiency.
You will analyze technical requirements and collaboratively develop sustainable solutions with your team, supporting the adoption of new technologies and sharing innovative ideas for platform enhancement.
Additionally, you will perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex cloud, Kubernetes, and infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Creating technical documentation, operational concepts, and best practices will be part of your duties, alongside contributing to the improvement of monitoring, observability, and security processes.
Participation in on-call duty rotations and ensuring compliance with security standards are also key aspects of your responsibilities.
