About The Role We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at DENIC eG. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our data platform, which supports our Big Data and Business Intelligence initiatives. Your primary focus will be on designing scalable backend services and APIs using Go (Golang), complemented by Python, to ensure efficient data processing and reliable system operations. You will work closely with analysts, data engineers, and internal stakeholders to implement new data sources, optimize data models, and automate workflows, contributing directly to the stability and performance of our infrastructure. Your expertise will help enhance our data pipelines, facilitate seamless data integration, and support our continuous improvement efforts through innovative proof-of-concept projects and active participation in architectural decisions within an agile environment. Qualifications Successfully completed studies in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification acquired through professional experience.Solid programming skills in Go (Golang); good knowledge of Python as a secondary language.Experience in developing backend services, APIs, or data pipelines.Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and performing optimized database queries.Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git, within team settings.Understanding of cloud-native technologies, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to system stability and performance.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an agile, cross-functional team. Responsibilities Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Go (Golang), with Python as a supplementary language for specific tasks.Build and optimize data models, ETL/ELT processes, ensuring reliable data supply for BI applications and reporting.Design, implement, and improve data pipelines and workflows to support large-scale data processing and analytics.Automate routine processes and deployments utilizing tools such as GitLab CI and SaltStack.Ensure the operational stability of the data platform through monitoring, error analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.Collaborate closely with analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to incorporate new data sources and enhance data quality.Participate in architectural decisions, technical proof-of-concepts, and code reviews to uphold high standards of software quality.Contribute to the documentation and maintenance of system components, ensuring maintainability and scalability.Support the deployment and operation of the platform in a cloud-native environment, adhering to best DevOps practices.
