Description
Senior Full Stack Engineer | London | Hybrid | AI Product Scale-Up | Frontend & Python
Salary: £90,000–£110,000 (+/- 10%) + equity
Location: London, hybrid working (1 day per week)
I'm working with a fast-growing AI product company looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a frontend lean to join a high-calibre engineering team building a product that's already making a real impact.
The product has strong commercial traction, thousands of active users and ambitious plans for what comes next.
It's reached an interesting stage where there's plenty left to build and influence, but you're not taking a punt on whether anyone actually wants the product.
The culture is similarly well balanced.
The calibre bar is high, and the team is ambitious, but there isn't a hustle culture attached to it.
Engineers are trusted to manage their time, given significant ownership and surrounded by smart, switched-on people who care about doing good work.
It's an adult environment without micromanagement, where people are expected to contribute beyond their tickets but aren't expected to make work their entire personality.
What you'll be doing:
Building end-to-end product features, with a particular focus on creating excellent frontend experiences.Working across Vue.js/React, Python and FastAPI, remaining comfortable moving through the stack when the problem requires it.Designing APIs, backend services and data models that support the continued development of the product.Improving performance, usability, reliability and maintainability as the platform scales.Working closely with Product and Design to shape features from idea through to production.Influencing technical direction, engineering standards and wider product decisions.Mentoring other engineers and helping raise the engineering bar across the team.
Tech stack:
Frontend: Vue.js ideally, although React or another modern JavaScript framework is absolutely considered.Backend: Python, FastAPI - flexibility to consider experience in other modern backend languages.Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS / Azure / GCP, Terraform, GitHub Actions.
They're very open to engineers who've worked with adjacent frontend & backend frameworks.
More important is being a strong product-minded engineer who cares about how something works for the user, not simply whether the code technically works.
What they're looking for:
Strong commercial experience building modern web applications, with a clear frontend bias.Experience owning customer-facing product features from concept through to production.Comfortable contributing to Python backend development, or motivated to develop further in this area.Strong product and UX judgement alongside solid engineering fundamentals.Excellent communication skills and the confidence to contribute ideas and challenge thinking.Comfortable with ambiguity, ownership and making pragmatic technical decisions.Startup, scale-up or similarly product-led experience is advantageous.
Why join?
High-performance without the performative startup culture, joining a small, ambitious team of seriously capable engineers who will challenge you and give you plenty of opportunity to grow.Real ownership and autonomy, without being micromanaged or waiting for someone to hand you perfectly defined tickets.Key point of growth, with plenty left to influence alongside a product that already has significant commercial traction and thousands of users.Meaningful exposure to AI-native development, building experience in a space that's changing incredibly quickly.Significant influence over the product and technical direction, including architecture, engineering standards and how the team develops as it grows.A flexible culture, with just one day per week in London and an adult approach to how people manage their work.
If you're looking to make your mark on a growing AI business, work alongside exceptional people and still have a life outside of work, I'd love to tell you more.
