Role Details Position: Senior PHP Developer- Technical ArchitectLocation: London, UK (Hybrid) (2-3days WFO)Experience: 9+ YearsEmployment Type: we are open for both Permanent/ContractWork Authorisation: Valid UK work authorisation is mandatory Key Skills Required Strong experience in PHP backend development within high-traffic consumer products.Experience building and operating production systems at scale.Strong understanding of API design, client-server communication and mobile API versioning.Hands-on experience with MySQL, caching technologies, distributed systems, and high-availability architectures.Experience with gRPC/Protocol Buffers.Familiarity with GCP, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD practices.Experience with monitoring, observability, performance optimisation, and incident management.Knowledge of monetisation/payment systems including subscriptions and in-app purchases.Ability to work effectively with Product, QA, Design, and Mobile Engineering teams.Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.Preferred Skills Computer Science or related degree.Experience with Aerospike, ClickHouse, Elasticsearch.Experience working with large monolithic applications and cloud migrations.Understanding of GDPR and consumer data privacy requirements.
