We are seeking an experienced Production Support Software Developer to join our team supporting and enhancing enterprise financial services applications.
This role combines strong software development skills with a production support mindset.
You will be responsible for investigating and resolving production issues, delivering application fixes and enhancements, maintaining platform security and reliability and ensuring client service commitments are met.
You will work closely with developers, testers, operations teams and other stakeholders to maintain stable, secure and high-performing production environments.
As part of the role, flexibility with working hours is required, as software releases, security patching and production deployments are regularly scheduled outside normal business hours.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing Level 3 production support for business-critical financial services applicationsInvestigating, diagnosing and resolving production incidents and application issuesManaging production issues in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), including response and resolution targetsDeveloping, testing and implementing software fixes, maintenance changes and production enhancements using Ruby on Rails and JavaScriptPerforming root cause analysis for production incidents and implementing solutions to prevent recurrencePlanning and delivering security patches, dependency updates and application upgrades to maintain secure and supported platformsMonitoring and addressing application vulnerabilities and technical risks in line with security requirementsSupporting planned software releases and deployments across production and non-production environmentsParticipating in regular outside of business hours deployments and release activitiesWorking closely with testing, operations and development teams to ensure changes are appropriately tested and safely deployedTroubleshooting application, database, integration and infrastructure-related issuesSupporting applications operating within modern DevOps environments including AWS, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelinesMaintaining clear technical and support documentation, including incident findings, deployment procedures and operational knowledgeIdentifying opportunities to improve application stability, performance, supportability and operational efficiencyContributing to continuous improvement across production support, release management and software development practices
Your skills and experience:
Proven experience as a Software Developer or Production Support Developer, ideally within FinTech, banking or financial servicesStrong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and JavaScriptStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex production issuesSolid experience with PostgreSQL, relational databases and SQL/query optimisationHands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (e.g.
