Description

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Software Engineer to join our Technology team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating the C#/.NET services that power our internal web-based application, which delivers proprietary investment ideas and information to the Portfolio Management team in a dynamic, real-time, and highly customized way. The system is heavily data driven, handles thousands of securities in real time, and integrates with the firm’s core trading and analytics systems. You will have the opportunity to work on a modern .NET stack and benefit from valuable collaboration and dialogue with end users. Our aim is to build a powerful, reliable, and easily extendable back-end. The ideal candidate has demonstrable experience building scalable, data-intensive back-end services with clean, maintainable code. They are self-motivated, communicate effectively across technical and business stakeholders, and prioritize work to maximize business value. The duties and responsibilities of the Back-End Software Engineer include, but are not limited to: Design, build, and operate C#/.NET services that ingest, normalize, and distribute real-time market data for thousands of fixed-income securities.Develop and extend the REST APIs and GraphQL that power portfolio management workflows in our front-end application.Build and operate event-driven data pipelines with Kafka, SQL Server, and DuckDB, connecting market data feeds, analytics, and the front end.Maintain existing functionalities, including debugging production issues, modifying and extending features, and optimizing stability, throughput, and performance.Collaborate with stakeholders, quants, dev-ops, and other software engineers efficiently. Contribute to the design of the platform and document technical decisions to contribute to team knowledge base.Engage with end users and gather feedback to continuously improve the software and build stakeholder management. Requirements 4+ years of experience developing production-grade back-end services.Must have strong knowledge of database concurrency control, including locking mechanisms, race condition prevention, and ACID transaction principles.Strong experience with C# and modern .NET (ASP.NET Core).Experience in designing the framework and architecture of scalable, data-driven distributed systems and best practices.Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and automated testing (xUnit or similar).Experience with SQL skills and experience with Entity Framework Core and SQL Server, exposure to PostgreSQL is a plus.Experience building event-driven and messaging-based systems (Kafka or similar).Proficiency designing and integrating REST APIs.Knowledge of financial markets, especially fixed-income products, will be considered an asset.Knowledge of full-stack development, especially Angular21+, RxJs, and NgRx will be considered an asset.Knowledge of LLM Agents, AI-Driven Programming, and Eval-Driven Development will be considered an asset.
