About the role You'll own the design, build, and reliability of data pipelines and orchestration for your area, using AI where it helps, and drive the quality of the warehouse models that underpin our analytics, BI, and customer-facing reporting. You'll resolve data issues end-to-end, fixing root causes rather than symptoms, and have real say in how testing, monitoring, and documentation work in your area. You'll also mentor junior engineers and represent the data team with Product, Engineering, Customer, and Finance. Requirements Strong Python and SQLExperience building reliable data pipelines on AWS - ideally including Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, S3, or DynamoDBUnderstanding of APIs, webhooks, event-driven systems, and data qualityExperience with testing, Git, CI/CD, and infrastructure as codeExperience with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Superset - and a bonus if you've worked with Dagster, dbt, DLT, Athena, Iceberg, or ClickHouseA plus if you've handled third-party integrations, multi-region systems, or data security and governance Benefits Four days a week in our Christchurch office - we're office-first on purpose, because the best work happens in the room together.
