Our challenge
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer to design, build, automate, and support modern cloud-native platforms.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and platform engineering.
The role requires close collaboration with development, security, and operations teams to improve application reliability, scalability, and deployment efficiency.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $95k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure and platform services.Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployments and releases.Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for platform reliability and observability.Automate operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Collaborate with development teams to improve application deployment, scalability, and performance.Ensure platform security, compliance, and governance standards are met.Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
Requirements:
8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering.Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration technologies.Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo.Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Go.Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.Strong knowledge of Linux administration and networking fundamentals.Experience implementing DevSecOps and security best practices.
Preferred, but not required:
Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.Experience with cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks.Exposure to API gateways, microservices, and event-driven architectures.Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as EKS, AKS, or GKE.Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies.
