Backend Software Engineer - 𝘜𝘚 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘙𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘥𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦 Hampton North is partnering with a Series A cybersecurity company building autonomous AI-driven offense and defense tools for government and enterprise clients. Their platform runs an AI-powered attacker continuously inside a client's own environment, finding vulnerabilities, moving laterally, and mapping attack paths before real adversaries can. It then automatically builds defenses based on what it finds, essentially a red team that never sleeps, paired with a system that acts on its own findings. Location: New York or Washington DC (onsite) Compensation: $160,000-$240,000 Base + Equity What you'll be doing: Designing, developing, and deploying backend features with a focus on high quality and maintainable codeOwning projects end to end from conception through to delivery, managing blockers along the wayCollaborating with engineers and designers to create user-friendly workflows aligned with the product missionWorking directly with end users to ensure the product is solving real operational problemsParticipating in code reviews and contributing to best practices across the engineering org What you'll need: Strong experience in web development with proficiency in Node, Python, Golang or RustStrong experience designing backend APIs and efficient database schemasAbility to independently manage project scope, set realistic timelines, and resolve issues autonomouslyEffective written and verbal communication skills for a distributed team environmentExperience with strongly typed languagesFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure is a plus
