Backend Developer – Node.js / Node-RED Location: Atlanta, GA - Hybrid 4 days Duration: Full-time About the Role We are looking for two experienced Backend Developers to join our team and contribute to the development of industrial and logistics software solutions in a highly technical environment. The role is primarily focused on backend development using Node.js and Node-RED, with strong interaction with REST APIs, PostgreSQL databases, and industrial communication protocols. You will work on the development of software features, API integrations, and communication layers between applications, databases, and industrial machinery within a collaborative Agile environment. Position Overview Role: Backend Developer – Node.js / Node-RED Experience Level: Mid-Senior (minimum 6 years of total experience) Technical Environment Core Stack, JavaScript, Node.js, Node-RED, PostgreSQL, REST APIs Additional Technologies Vue.js (nice to have)HTML / CSS / JavaScript (frontend exposure is a plus)GitLabIntegration testing frameworks Networking & Protocols Knowledge of networking concepts and industrial communication protocols is appreciated:TCP/IPOPC-UAIndustrial communication interfaces Key Responsibilities Backend Development (Main Focus – ~80%)Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and Node-REDBuild and enhance RESTful APIs and integration layersInterface software solutions with SQL databases and industrial machineryDevelop scalable and maintainable backend featuresParticipate in architecture discussions and technical designEnsure code quality through reviews and testing practicesPush, maintain, and review code using GitLab Integration & Testing Develop and execute integration testsTroubleshoot backend and communication issuesValidate interactions between APIs, databases, and connected systemsSupport deployment and debugging activities when required Collaboration Work closely with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, project managers, and client stakeholdersParticipate in Agile ceremonies and technical discussionsContribute to continuous improvement of development processes Required Skills Must-HaveMinimum 6 years of software development experienceStrong experience with:JavaScriptNode.jsRESTful APIsPostgreSQL / SQL databasesExperience with Node-RED or willingness to quickly ramp upGood understanding of backend architecture and API integrationsExperience with integration testingFamiliarity with Git/GitLab workflows
