Full-Stack Software Engineer

About Aloja Aloja.ai is building a dynamic pricing and demand intelligence platform for the tours, activities, and experiences industry. We are a highly technical team working with modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and AI-assisted development. We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer capable of working independently across backend services, Next.js applications, databases, and infrastructure. This is a high-ownership role. We expect engineers to understand the systems they work with, investigate problems, make technical decisions, and take responsibility from diagnosis through production. What you will do You will build and maintain production systems using TypeScript, Python, Node.js, Next.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Kubernetes. Your responsibilities will include: Build and maintain backend services and APIs with TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.Develop full-stack applications with Next.js.Design and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs.Work directly with PostgreSQL, SQL, relational models, and migrations.Build and maintain microservices and asynchronous workflows.Integrate external APIs and services.Diagnose problems across applications, databases, containers, and infrastructure.Write unit and integration tests.Review and improve existing architecture.Deploy and operate applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.Use AI-assisted development tools throughout the engineering workflow. You should be comfortable receiving a problem rather than a detailed implementation plan: exploring the system, finding evidence, identifying the root cause, and deciding what should change. We are looking for an engineer who: Works autonomously and takes ownership of problems.Has strong TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and Next.js experience.Is comfortable working directly with PostgreSQL.Understands Clean and Hexagonal Architecture in practice.Can navigate unfamiliar codebases.Diagnoses problems systematically instead of guessing.Understands technical trade-offs.Recognizes both underengineering and overengineering.Values testability, reliability, and maintainability.Communicates technical reasoning clearly.Is comfortable working in a fast-changing startup environment.Uses AI extensively but critically.
