About The Role This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position. FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance. FDM is seeking a DevOps Engineer located in NYC to support a project in the Financial Services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended. This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week. About You Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer with experience in Azure and Azure DevOps to support the team in building a developer and cloud centric application delivery program. This individual will help identify, document, and automate developer requests to build scalable processes. A persistent security-driven mindset and agility will be critical in this function. Primary Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering Design, build, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure in Microsoft AzureDevelop standardized infrastructure patterns, reusable modules, and platform services for application teamsSupport networking, compute, storage, identity, secrets management, and related cloud servicesPartner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and development teams on platform design and technology standardsInfrastructure as Code & Automation CI/CD & Software Delivery Monitoring, Reliability & Production Operations Security, Governance & Controls Engineering Collaboration & DevOps Adoption Preferred Qualifications Previous experience within investment banking, financial services, private equity, asset management, or another highly regulated enterprise environmentAdvanced experience with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, particularly technologies such as Azure DevOps, Entra ID, AKS, Azure Monitor, Key Vault, and Azure networkingExperience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as KubernetesExperience developing reusable Bicep modules and managing enterprise-scale Bicep environmentsExperience with DevSecOps, including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, container scanning, secrets scanning, and policy-as-codeFamiliarity with enterprise security and governance frameworks, including audit controls, change management, segregation of duties, and technology risk managementKnowledge of database platforms and deployment automation involving SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or other relational databasesExperience with API management, messaging/event platforms, or enterprise integration technologiesFamiliarity with SRE concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity management, and reliability engineeringExperience with disaster recovery and business continuity testingBuild and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Azure BicepAutomate architecture diagrams, and operational proceduresMentor development and infrastructure teams on cloud and DevOps engineering best practice1+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related technical disciplineHands-on professional experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Microsoft AzureExperience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably using Azure BicepProven experience designing and maintaining enterprise CI/CD pipelinesStrong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell, Python, or similar languagesExperience with Git, source-control practices, branching strategies, and code-review processesStrong understanding of cloud networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, private networking, routing, proxies, certificates, and connectivityExperience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutionsExperience supporting highly available, production-critical systems and participating in incident responseStrong understanding of IAM, secrets management, privileged access, certificate management, vulnerability management, and secure infrastructure practicesExperience troubleshooting issues across applications, infrastructure, networks, operating systems, and cloud servicesStrong understanding of modern software development and SDLC practicesAbility to manage multiple concurrent engineering initiatives while working across infrastructure, application development, security, architecture, and business
