The company works across multiple markets and emphasizes collaborative, team-oriented environments while providing opportunities to work with leading organizations. ## About the Role IDR is seeking a **Senior DevOps Engineer โ€“ Azure** to support one of its leading clients. This remote position focuses on designing, automating, and maintaining modern cloud infrastructure and deployment environments. The Senior DevOps Engineer will work extensively with **Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and containerized applications**. The role also involves supporting Databricks workflows, integrating Azure services, improving observability, and providing technical guidance to other team members. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently across multiple projects while collaborating with development and infrastructure teams throughout the software development lifecycle. ## Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain GitOps pipelines using Argo CD. * Implement Infrastructure as Code using Helm and Terraform. * Design and automate CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications. * Build and maintain CI/CD workflows for Databricks environments. * Use Azure DevOps to support automated software delivery. * Integrate Databricks with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Key Vault. * Configure and maintain observability solutions using Azure Monitor and Datadog. * Support infrastructure and application improvements throughout the SDLC. * Maintain source code control and release repositories. * Work across multiple projects and technical initiatives. * Provide architectural guidance for development and infrastructure improvements. * Mentor technical staff and share DevOps best practices. * Participate in pair-programming and collaborative technical problem-solving when required. ## Required Technical Skills Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with modern DevOps technologies, including: * Kubernetes, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). * Azure DevOps. * GitHub Actions. * Jenkins. * Argo CD. * Terraform. * Helm. * Docker. * Git-based development workflows. * Continuous integration and continuous deployment practices. * Databricks. * Azure Data Factory. * Azure Key Vault. * Azure Monitor. * Datadog. ## Scripting & Automation Strong scripting capabilities are important for automating infrastructure and operational processes. Experience with one or more of the following is required: * Python * Bash * PowerShell The engineer should be able to use scripting to automate repetitive tasks, support deployment workflows, troubleshoot systems, and improve operational efficiency. ## Cloud, Kubernetes & GitOps The role requires a strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure and container orchestration. Experience with **Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)** is particularly valuable. The Senior DevOps Engineer will help manage containerized workloads while using GitOps principles and tools such as Argo CD to improve deployment consistency and operational control. Terraform and Helm will be used to support Infrastructure as Code and repeatable infrastructure and application configuration. ## CI/CD & Software Delivery The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for developing and improving automated software delivery pipelines. This includes: * Designing CI/CD workflows. * Automating application deployments. * Supporting containerized applications. * Managing release repositories. * Integrating development workflows with Azure DevOps. * Working with GitHub Actions and Jenkins. * Improving deployment consistency and reliability. * Supporting Databricks workflow automation. A strong understanding of continuous integration, continuous deployment, and modern Agile development practices is essential. ## Data Platform & Observability The position also involves supporting data and analytics infrastructure, particularly environments involving **Databricks and Azure services**. The engineer will work with technologies such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Key Vault while helping establish effective monitoring and observability. Experience with **Azure Monitor and Datadog** will help the team identify infrastructure issues, monitor system behavior, and improve operational reliability. ## Leadership & Collaboration As a senior-level position, the role includes technical leadership responsibilities in addition to hands-on engineering. The successful candidate should be able to: * Mentor technical team members. * Provide architectural recommendations. * Communicate technical concepts clearly. * Document infrastructure and technical decisions. * Work independently on complex assignments. * Collaborate effectively with developers and infrastructure professionals. * Participate in pair-programming when appropriate. * Manage priorities across multiple projects. * Contribute to Agile development processes. Strong communication and documentation skills are particularly important when working across distributed teams. ## Remote Work Environment This is a remote position supporting the client's Nashville, Tennessee location. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing responsibilities independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining close communication with technical teams and project stakeholders.
