Senior DevOps and Cloud Engineer

What You Do Centric IT Solutions is growing its Data Platform Engineering team and looking for a Senior DevOps and Cloud Engineer to help build and operate the data platform that delivers data services at scale to municipalities across the Netherlands. You will architect, build, and operate secure, resilient, and future-proof platforms across Azure and OCI, enabling both data-driven insights and innovative new services for our clients. A key part of this role is shaping our infrastructure strategy around European data sovereignty, data residency, platform resilience, and regulatory compliance. You will help ensure our platform remains secure, scalable, and aligned with evolving European requirements. A summary of your responsibilities: Design and implement a scalable data platform covering ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers.Build and maintain automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning and deployment pipelines using CI/CD practices.Develop and operate cloud-native and containerized platforms using Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps best practices.Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data platform components — build, release, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.Develop and maintain observability solutions using Prometheus and Grafana, including metrics, dashboards, logging integrations, and alerting for workloads running across cloud and private cloud environments.Drive Infrastructure-as-Code adoption across data environments using Terraform.Contribute actively to architecture and design reviews, ensuring data platform decisions align with business goals.Ensure platform compliance with security, governance, scalability, and vulnerability management standards.Work with fellow DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers, Product Owners, and Architects to evolve the platform, while mentoring junior engineers and promoting DevOps best practices.Support platform design decisions across public and private cloud environments, with focus on compute, networking, storage, IAM, and secure connectivity. What You Bring To The Team Strong experience building and operating cloud platforms in Azure, OCI, or a similar cloud environment.Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform or comparable tools).Experience with container platforms and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, including networking, storage, compute, and identity & access management.Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar).Understanding of observability and monitoring concepts, including logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting.Familiarity with security best practices and platform reliability.Experience with DevOps way-of-working and CI/CD tooling. The salary for this position is €4700 to €5500 gross per month. We are open to discussing the salary depending on your knowledge and experience.
