Description Hybrid 4 days onsite, 1 remote in Greenwood Village, CO Our client seeks a Full Stack Software Engineer to build and operate a modern API platform. The team treats APIs as products with clear contracts, observability, documentation, and ownership. The role emphasizes TypeScript, Python, AWS, and DevOps practices with automation, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and strong testing. AI-assisted development is part of daily work. The engineer will move from ambiguity to production solutions, take ownership across the lifecycle, and improve developer experience and platform reliability. Rate: $65.00 to $75.00/hr. w2 JN -082026-108388 Responsibilities Design, build, and operate APIs to OpenAPI standards with clear contracts and documentation.Develop backend services using TypeScript/Node.js and Python frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.Implement automation via infrastructure as code, CI/CD, testing, and deployment workflows.Own services from design through production support with measurable SLIs and reliability goals.Incorporate AI assistants for code generation, testing, documentation, and reviews.Implement observability with structured logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerts.Collaborate on system design, security, performance, and developer experience improvements.Support environment-based deployments and versioned, secure APIs with resiliency patterns. Experience Requirements TypeScript/Node.js for backend services, strong type system knowledge, async patterns, and API development.Python in production with FastAPI or Django and PostgreSQL optimization.AWS services including Lambda, Step Functions, S3, SNS/SQS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and RDS/Aurora.Infrastructure as code with AWS CDK and/or Terraform.GitLab CI/CD, automated testing, security scanning, and multi-stage deployment workflows; monorepo a plus.API engineering with OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth 2.0, versioning, rate limiting, resiliency, and idempotency.Testing discipline with unit/integration coverage and automated quality gates.Observability with tools such as Splunk or Datadog and production troubleshooting.Regular use of AI coding assistants and effective integration into workflows.Collaboration skills, thoughtful code reviews, and clean version control practices.Preferred: functional programming concepts (immutability, composition, typed errors) and frameworks such as Effect.js, fp-ts, or ZIO.Preferred: Kubernetes/EKS with Helm, blue/green and canary strategies.Preferred: SRE practices including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident response, and toil reduction.Preferred: secure development, performance optimization, and distributed systems.
