Description

About the role TwentyFirst Financial (TFFI) provides loan and lease financing to channel partners and their customers. Our web application, TFFI App, handles origination through funding, and we're actively expanding it β€” a Salesforce/CRM integration, an admin/audit portal, e-signature modernization, and embedded credit insurance. This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who wants to own technology end-to-end at a growing specialty finance company. You'll be the primary builder of the TFFI platform and, at the same time, the person who keeps the company's core systems, dealer portal, and vendor integrations running day-to-day. It combines full-stack development with practical systems administration and dealer-facing enablement β€” ideal for a strong developer who also enjoys operational ownership. Overall IT strategy, security ownership, and funder/audit accountability sit with senior leadership and our outsourced IT partner; you'll build, run, and support these areas rather than owning their governance. What you'll do Platform development β€’ Maintain, enhance, and extend the TFFI App β€” a Vue.js single-page frontend and a Node.js serverless backend on AWS. β€’ Build new features across the stack: dashboards, application/fulfilment workflows, loan and lease calculators, document upload, and e-signature. β€’ Develop and consume REST APIs and third-party integrations (e.g., Constellation "Edge", e-signature providers, Salesforce/CRM, insurance partners). β€’ Own AWS serverless infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SES) via the Serverless Framework, including deployments to dev/staging/production. β€’ Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code; participate in reviews; keep documentation current. Systems & application administration β€’ Administer and maintain the core platforms supporting origination, credit adjudication, portfolio administration, financial reporting, and the customer, dealer, and partner portals. β€’ Monitor system availability, performance, and data integrity; troubleshoot production issues and support month-end and operational needs. β€’ Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact with Constellation for updates, releases, and enhancements to the loan origination and loan management system. Dealer portal & partner enablement β€’ Configure the dealer portal for new dealers and update configurations for existing dealers as their requirements change. β€’ Deliver portal training and onboarding to new dealers to drive effective adoption and use. β€’ Provide first-line support for dealer portal issues β€” troubleshooting, resolving, or escalating as needed. Vendor & integration coordination β€’ Build and coordinate integrations with third-party providers β€” credit bureaus (e.g., Equifax), property/title data (e.g., Teranet), payment processors and banking partners, and SaaS vendors. β€’ Monitor vendor performance and service levels, flag issues, and support leadership in periodic SLA, cost, and security reviews; coordinate technical onboarding of new vendors and data sources. Data, automation & AI β€’ Implement automation and AI-driven tools to improve credit decisioning, data validation, workflow efficiency, and reporting. β€’ Identify and recommend process improvements; help translate operational needs into technical solutions. Security, privacy & support β€’ Handle sensitive financial and personal data responsibly β€” security, privacy, and auditability are first-class concerns. β€’ Work with the outsourced IT partner to apply and maintain security controls, access management, and data protection; support audits, incident response, and disaster recovery / business continuity. β€’ Manage user access (onboarding/offboarding), provide day-to-day IT support, and train staff on systems, tools, and security best practices. β€’ Prepare and maintain system documentation, and assist leadership with information requested for lender, auditor, and partner due diligence. Must-have qualifications β€’ 5+ years of professional full-stack development in JavaScript (strong candidates with 4+ years plus broad systems exposure will be considered). β€’ Strong Vue.js (or a comparable SPA framework β€” React/Angular) with Vuex/Router, HTML5, CSS/SCSS. β€’ Solid Node.js backend experience building and consuming REST APIs. β€’ Hands-on AWS experience, ideally serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3). β€’ Git-based workflows; comfort owning features and systems end-to-end. β€’ Experience administering or supporting business-critical applications and integrations (loan management, financial reporting, or comparable platforms). β€’ Working understanding of data security and privacy requirements in Canada. β€’ Clear written and verbal communication; able to work directly with non-technical stakeholders and dealer/channel partners. Nice to have β€’ Experience in fintech, lending, banking, or payments, and handling PII/PCI-sensitive data. β€’ Serverless Framework, DynamoDB data modeling, AWS Cognito, Amazon SES/Transcribe. β€’ Third-party integrations: e-signature , Salesforce/CRM APIs, financial/insurance APIs. β€’ Familiarity with loan origination/management platforms and dealer or partner portal administration. β€’ Vue 2 β†’ Vue 3 migration experience. β€’ CI/CD, automated testing (Jest), infrastructure-as-code, observability. β€’ Exposure to automation and/or AI tooling. β€’ Eligible to work in Canada; Oakville/GTA based What we offer β€’ Competitive salary (see above), health/dental benefits, β€’ Meaningful, end-to-end ownership of the platform and systems central to the business. β€’ A clear growth path into broader technical leadership as the company scales over the next 18 months. β€’ Direct access to senior leadership and real influence on how the technology evolves.
