Description

THE CLIENT Our client is an award-winning, internationally recognized luxury travel company with decades of heritage. Over that time, the company has designed and executed extraordinary bespoke journeys- private villas, luxury cruises, safaris, expedition travel, and private yacht charters- for a globally discerning clientele. Their Private Travel Designers bring decades of supplier relationships and destination expertise, and they are the reason clients return again and again. The business has reached an exciting inflection point. The company believes the next decade of luxury travel will be a technology-enabled one, and that the agencies combining AI-native client experience, AI-native operations, and disciplined revenue operations will be the ones that compound their advantage. This is a business whose competitive edge has always been taste, relationships, and trust, and it is now investing to turn that edge into a durable revenue and efficiency engine. THE ROLE This is a founding, full-time role with a broad mandate. Reporting directly to the incoming CEO, with a dotted-line partnership to the CFO, the AI Systems & RevOps Engineer will be the systems-and-data backbone for Sales, Operations, and Finance alike. It is a hybrid engineering and Revenue Operations seat, and the person in it will build the technology and operating layer that carries the business into its next decade. The mandate is deliberately commercial. Revenue per Travel Designer has more upside than current processes surface; inquiry follow-up slips between CRM, inbox, and calendar; repeat-client and referral pipelines are under-monetised; and manual coordination across CRM, booking platforms, supplier extranets, itinerary tools, and finance absorbs hours that should be spent with clients. The ideal candidate is an autonomous, product-minded engineer who can take an executive briefing, return with a working prototype that week, and ship it the next month — someone equally comfortable partnering with a CFO, a sales lead, an operations lead, and a senior Private Travel Designer, all in the same day. Crucially, they understand that in luxury, the aesthetic standard is a load-bearing functional requirement. RESPONSIBILITIES Revenue-driving systems (partnering with Sales) Build the proposal-generation engine and advisor-facing workspace that move more inquiries to closed bookings- faster proposals, sharper follow-up cadence, and automatic surfacing of in-pipeline opportunities at risk of stalling.Build client-retention and repeat-booking instrumentation: lifetime-value cohorts, referral-pipeline visibility, win-back detection, and a single client record spanning every booking that makes each next trip easier to win than the last.Stand up the pipeline-health and forecasting layer the sales lead uses weekly- sourced vs. closed, win rate by source and by designer, average proposal cycle time, average revenue per booking by supplier category, and lost-opportunity reasons.Build enrichment and lead-scoring tooling for inbound enquiries, routing qualified leads promptly to the right Private Travel Designer. Efficiency & workforce productivity (partnering with Operations) Identify and eliminate unnecessary manual steps across the inquiry-to-delivery flow, and stand up the agentic operations layer that handles high-volume, low-judgment work, freeing designers and staff for the high-judgment work clients actually need.Hold every system shipped to a real number: revenue per FTE up, steps-per-booking down, time-to-close down, or error rate down. If a system doesn’t move one of those, it doesn’t ship.Build supplier performance and reliability scoring so Operations can see, in real time, which suppliers help close business and which quietly cost margin. Margins & financials (partnering with the CFO) Stand up or extend the ERP / travel-agency back office (Trams, Travefy, ClientBase) with integrations from CRM and booking systems, so every confirmed booking creates the right journal entry automatically, every supplier commission is reconciled, and every deposit and client payment lands in the correct bucket.Close the supplier-commission loop through an agentic invoice-reconciliation workflow, the highest-leverage automation in the company.Build the CFO’s operational analytics layer (a data warehouse plus dashboards) for weekly margin reviews, supplier-cost trends, commission leakage, proposal win-rate, advisor productivity, and booking velocity, replacing monthly spreadsheets with weekly live visibility.Improve financial-close speed and accuracy through automated reconciliation, automated invoice ingestion, and zero-touch journal entries for standard bookings. Client experience Build the systems that give time back to clients and designers and make every touchpoint feel more content-rich and personalized.Feed engagement data (open rates, time-to-approval, follow-up triggers) back into the CRM so Sales gains compounding visibility into what proposals win and why. WHAT WE NEED TO SEE (ESSENTIAL) 4–6+ years of production engineering, with a track record of shipping AI-native systems to live production in the last 24 months.Strong engineering fundamentals across TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, and SQL, plus hands-on experience in at least one major cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Hands-on with LLM APIs, vector databases, RAG, and agent frameworks (LangGraph, AI-SDK, Agno, or equivalent), with a clear view of their production failure modes.Comfort with integration patterns: REST, GraphQL, webhooks, OAuth, event-driven architectures, and queue systems.Demonstrable RevOps, GTM-engineering, or sales-operations instincts, systems that made a revenue number move, not just a tech-debt number.Fluent with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent) and the judgment to know when they make the work worse.Autonomy and product judgment: executive briefing to working prototype in a week, prototype to shipped in a month.Cross-functional fluency across finance, sales, operations, and senior client-facing staff. WHAT WE LIKE TO SEE (BONUS) AI, ML, or systems engineering in luxury travel, hospitality, premium consumer services, or adjacent high-touch industries.Experience integrating CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot), including the new wave of native CRM agents (Agentforce, HubSpot Breeze, Attio).Familiarity with travel-industry systems- GDS, supplier extranets, cruise and villa booking platforms, and travel-agency back offices (Trams, Travefy, NetSuite-for-travel).A background in Revenue Operations, GTM engineering, sales operations, or FP&A at a mid-size or growth-stage business.Brand-sensitive UI / proposal work in a luxury or premium context.Strong structured problem-solving, with the ability to synthesise insights and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences alike.A track record of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously and delivering results on schedule in a high-autonomy, remote environment.
