About the Opportunity:
The DevOps Engineer – Data Platform & Cloud Infrastructure is responsible for building, automating, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that supports data platforms and production workloads.
This role ensures reliable deployments, scalable environments, strong observability, and secure operations while partnering with data engineering and software teams to improve platform performance and developer productivity.
Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure supporting data platforms and production applications.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform or similar technologies.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to automate application and infrastructure deployments.
• Manage cloud environments, networking, compute, storage, and security configurations.
• Support data platform infrastructure across services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Monitor system performance, availability, reliability, and resource utilization.
• Implement observability, logging, alerting, and incident response practices.
• Automate operational processes to reduce manual work and improve deployment reliability.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software developers to optimize infrastructure for data processing and analytics workloads.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis.
• Implement security, access controls, backup, disaster recovery, and compliance practices.
• Establish and maintain infrastructure documentation, operational procedures, and engineering standards.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to platform architecture and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, site reliability engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Strong Linux administration and scripting skills, including Bash or Python.
• Experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of networking, security, IAM, monitoring, and cloud architecture principles.
• Experience supporting data platforms, data pipelines, databases, or analytics infrastructure preferred.
• Familiarity with observability tools and practices for production systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and data teams.
