Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Java Location: Luxembourg (On-site) Duration: Long-term Language: English Candidates: EU Citizens ] Job Description: Key Responsibilities Java Backend Development Design, develop and maintain robust backend solutions using Java17 and Spring Boot.Develop scalable and maintainable application components.Design and implement REST APIs.Develop persistence layers using JPA / Hibernate.Work extensively with SQL and relational databases.Analyse complex technical and functional requirements and translate them intoappropriate software solutions.Ensure performance, maintainability, scalability and security of developedapplications. Technical Design & Leadership Lead the technical design of new features and enhancements.Take ownership of important technical decisions within the development team.Coordinate and mentor other Java developers.Provide technical guidance and promote development best practices.Participate in solution and design reviews.Identify technical risks and opportunities for improvement.Support continuous improvement of development practices and applicationarchitecture. Software Quality & Testing Review code and ensure compliance with coding standards anddevelopment best practices.Promote high software quality through code reviews, design reviews andtesting.Develop and maintain automated tests using JUnit.Ensure appropriate test coverage for delivered software components.Investigate software defects and contribute to their resolution.Continuously improve maintainability and reliability of the applications. Integration & Messaging Develop and maintain integrations with other systems andservices.Work with Apache Kafka or equivalent messaging technologies.Design reliable asynchronous communication and messaging solutions.Support integration between backend applications and the wider EIBapplication landscape. CI/CD & DevOps Collaboration Support and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.Participate in software build and deployment activities.Work with Maven for application build and dependency management.Use Git for source-code management and collaborative development.Participate in application release activities.Collaborate closely with DevOps engineers to ensure reliable applicationdelivery. Production Support Provide second-line production support for developedapplications.Investigate and resolve complex production incidents.Perform root-cause analysis.Identify corrective and preventive actions.Support application stability and continuity.Proactively identify technical improvements based on production behaviour andoperational experience. Business & Technical Collaboration Work closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QAEngineers, DevOps Engineers and developers.Participate in analysis and refinement of functional and technicalrequirements.Communicate technical solutions and decisions clearly to technical andnon-technical stakeholders.Contribute to cross-functional project activities.Support effective delivery throughout the software development lifecycle. Knowledge Transfer & Service Continuity Ensure effective knowledge sharing within the development team.Document relevant technical solutions and implementation decisions.Support continuity of the applications and services.Ensure development knowledge is shared appropriately across team members.
