DevOps Engineer

We are an agile gaming innovation group building a proprietary ecosystem of games and platform tools. Operating within a larger global organization, we already manage a suite of titles that are processing tens of millions in real-money transactions. We tackle high-scale complexity by deploying isolated, cloud environments for each of our global partners. We are at the intersection of next-generation Provably Fair gaming, social gaming and live-ops tooling. Our platform integrates with multiple platform operators and supports real-money gameplay using provably fair technology. Each partner integration is deployed as an isolated cloud environment, with its own instances of our backend services. Both the client and the backend will have per-partner customizations. As we scale integrations, the number of deployments and operational complexity grows significantly. We are building long-term foundations for reliability, security, and scalability. Role Overview We are looking for a dedicated Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and reliability practices. This is a hands-on engineering role, guided by Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. The role focuses on supporting the agility of the team, automation, operational excellence, and proactive risk reduction, while working within the governance and compliance expectations of the gaming industry. You will work closely with the CTO and system architect and have high ownership over how DevOps and reliability are implemented as the company scales. Key Responsibilities Supporting a rapidly increasing number of isolated deployments, where each partner integration resultsin multiple backend services deployed independently.Designing deployment pipelines that scale with the number of partners, without copy-paste or fragilemanual processes.Maintaining high reliability, high-availability systems with fail-overs, where failures and downtime canhave significant business impact.Balancing automation, governance, and security in a regulated environment.Infrastructure & Reliability Design, operate, and improve AWS-based infrastructure across multiple regions and environments.Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi with TypeScript).Apply SRE principles to reduce operational toil and enhance observability/alerting.Improve system resilience and failure isolation per partner environment.CI/CD & Deployment Engineering Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).Build scalable, multi-tenant deployment workflows that support automated promotion, failover, androllbacks.Support HA deployments for internal and partner facing tools and dashboards.Maintain blue-green deployments and improve rollback automation.Work within a peer-reviewed change process and long-term production approval requirements.Observability & Incident Management Maintain and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.Ensure alerts are actionable and aligned with real player impact.Design and formalize incident response processes.Lead and participate in blameless postmortems, with shared ownership of follow-ups.Security, Compliance & Cost Support secure system design, secrets management, and access control.Enable and integrate security scanning and secure SDLC practices into CI/CD.Prepare systems for external security audits and compliance requirements.Take ownership of cloud cost awareness and optimization (FinOps is part of the role).Collaboration & Mentorship Help establish shared responsibility for operational quality and promote reliability-aware system design.Collaborate with technical leadership on prioritization and long-term platform improvements.Contribute to long-term plans for scalability and operational robustness of core platform components. Our Tech Stack Cloud: AWSCompute: ECS, EC2, Fargate, Lambda (EKS experience is a plus)Infrastructure as Code: Pulumi (TypeScript)CI/CD: GitHub ActionsDatabases: PostgreSQL (RDS), RedisMessaging: NATSObservability: Prometheus, CloudWatch, Grafana, Loki Skills and Qualifications 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, Platform, or SRE-adjacent roles.Strong hands-on experience with AWS.Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools.Working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript.Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines.Solid understanding and application of SRE concepts, including: alerting strategy, incident response, reliability vs velocity trade-offs, automation to reduce operational toil.Some experience with distributed systems or message brokers (NATS, Kafka, etc).Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices a plus.Degree in sciences/ CS/engineering preferred but not required.
