As a Data Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in building and operating the platform that powers the bank's data ecosystem.
Working closely with Data Engineering, Architecture, Governance, and AI teams, you'll create the cloud foundations, automation, and self-service capabilities that enable data products and AI solutions to scale securely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
• Provision and operate cloud-based data platforms, lakehouse environments, catalogue services, and supporting infrastructure.
• Build and maintain networking, storage, identity, and access management capabilities across Azure and AWS environments.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code, DataOps CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes.
• Implement governance capabilities including lineage, metadata management, catalogue services, and access controls.
• Support streaming and batch data platform connectivity, ingestion infrastructure, and data product publishing capabilities.
• Manage platform observability, disaster recovery, cost optimisation, and operational performance.
Requirements
• 6+ years of experience in Data Platform Engineering, DevOps, DataOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong experience operating cloud-based data platforms across Azure and/or AWS environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automation frameworks.
• Experience administering Databricks, Unity Catalog, or similar lakehouse technologies.
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, metadata management, streaming technologies, and observability tools.
• Experience working within banking, fintech, or another highly regulated environment is advantageous.
