We’re Hiring: Backend Engineer (Mid–Senior)
Remote
Experience: 3–5 years
Salary: Up to SGD 1,500/month
We’re looking for a Backend Engineer who can build reliable production systems and take ownership beyond simply completing assigned tickets.
You’ll work across the Send ecosystem on backend services, integrations, operational platforms, and AI-enabled products.
What You’ll Do
• Design, build, and maintain backend APIs and services
• Develop integrations with internal and third-party systems
• Work with databases, authentication, messaging, and cloud infrastructure
• Build reliable, maintainable, production-ready code
• Handle validation, retries, idempotency, failure scenarios, and edge cases
• Debug production issues and improve system performance
• Participate in architecture and technical discussions
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, QA, product, and infrastructure teams
• Take ownership of features from implementation through production
What We’re Looking For
• 3–5 years of professional backend engineering experience
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture
• Good knowledge of relational databases and data modelling
• Experience with C#, .NET, Java, Node.js, Python, or similar backend technologies
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and API security
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar cloud environments
• Experience with Git, testing, CI/CD, debugging, and deployments
• Ability to understand existing systems and work independently in a remote environment
Good to Have
• Microservices or distributed systems experience
• Event-driven architecture, queues, or asynchronous processing
• Docker and containerized workloads
• AWS experience
• Third-party API integrations
• AI / LLM integration experience
• Startup or fast-moving product environment experience
