Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Matillion DPC / METL Administrator Engineer to join our Federated Data Platform (FDP) team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, operation, and continuous improvement of Matillion (ETL and DPC) as a core ingestion and transformation capability within PMI’s enterprise data ecosystem.
You will enable reliable, secure, and scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines supporting multiple business domains, regions, and analytics use cases.
This role combines hands-on engineering, platform administration, and operational ownership in a federated, -self-service- data platform.
Responsibilities
Own the administration, configuration, and lifecycle management of Matillion ETL and Matillion DPC within the Federated Data PlatformDesign, implement, and maintain standardized ingestion and transformation patterns for batch and near -real-time- data pipelinesManage Matillion environments (development, test, staging, production), including upgrades, patching, and configuration changesIntegrate Matillion with Snowflake, cloud storage, APIs, and enterprise source systemsEnsure high availability, performance, and scalability of Matillion workloadsSupport CI/CD pipelines for Matillion jobs, including version control, promotion, and rollback strategiesCollaborate with Data Engineers, Solution Architects, and Product Owners on pipeline design, data modeling, and architecture decisionsEmbed security, access control, and governance standards into ingestion and transformation processesSupport incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for data pipeline failuresContribute to cost optimization (FinOps) through efficient job design and resource usage monitoringEnable self--service capabilities for domain teams while ensuring platform consistency and qualityWork in Agile and DevOps ways of working, supporting the services you help build and operate
Background And Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering or data integration rolesProven hands-on experience with Matillion ETL and/or Matillion- DPC in production environmentsExperience with Matillion DPC (pipelines, orchestration, API based- ingestion)Strong experience with Snowflake, including data loading, performance optimization, and cost awarenessSolid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data warehousing principles, and integration patternsStrong SQL skills; working knowledge of Python is an advantageExperience integrating data from APIs, cloud storage, databases, and enterprise systemsFamiliarity with Git--based version control and collaborative development practicesExperience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated deploymentsUnderstanding of cloud based- data platforms, preferably on AWSExperience operating platforms in Agile environmentsStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed, cross functional- teamsPassion for building reliable, scalable, and well governed- data solutions
Additional Experience Preferred Or Helpful
Knowledge of federated data platform or data mesh architecturesExperience integrating Matillion with dbtCloud, orchestration tools, or downstream analytics platformsFamiliarity with Power BI / Microsoft Fabric from a data consumption perspectiveKnowledge of AWS services (IAM, networking, storage, compute)Experience with data observability, logging, and monitoring toolsFamiliarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira and ConfluenceExposure to FinOps, cost monitoring, or platform usage analytics
