About The Role We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our client's dynamic team near Stafford. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, supporting the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in cloud technologies, automation, and infrastructure management, with a passion for delivering scalable, reliable, and secure cloud platforms. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects and developers, to optimize cloud environments and implement best practices that enhance operational efficiency and security. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have between 1-3 years of hands-on experience working with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. A solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates is essential. Candidates should have experience with Linux/Unix or Windows server administration within cloud or virtualized environments. A basic knowledge of networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls, and VPNs, is required. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation purposes is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should have experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Stackdriver. Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals are advantageous but not mandatory. Responsibilities Assist in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid environments, ensuring high availability and security.Contribute to infrastructure builds using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, promoting automation and repeatability.Monitor system health, security, performance, and cost metrics using appropriate tools, and implement alerting solutions to proactively address issues.Investigate and resolve incidents affecting cloud platforms and services, minimizing downtime and impact on business operations.Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to create and maintain reusable infrastructure templates and deployment patterns, fostering consistency and efficiency.Develop scripts and automation workflows to reduce manual intervention, accelerate deployment processes, and improve operational workflows.Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, support procedures, and runbooks to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the cloud engineering domain.
