Public Cloud Services (PCS) builds and runs Westpac's Enterprise Landing Zone (ELZ) — the secure, governed, multi-cloud foundation that enables teams across the Group to adopt Cloud safely and at scale. We're looking for a Cloud Engineer to work on the project delivery side of our cloud function. You'll consume the existing ELZ platform and reusable modules to deliver infrastructure for project initiatives, while also enabling new cloud services and enhancing existing ones as customer demand evolves. You'll bridge platform capability and project delivery — turning patterns and guardrails into working, production-ready environments. The Cloud Engineer plays an important role in the development and delivery of technical solutions on the public cloud and ensures that the detailed design, build, and operations are fit for purpose. What do I need? 5+ years’ experience delivering Azure infrastructure and cloud services across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS in secure, governed enterprise environments.Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps automation, including Terraform (AzureRM and AzAPI), Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.Strong troubleshooting, analysis and problem-solving skills across cloud, application and infrastructure services.Working knowledge of scripting and automation using at least one language or toolset such as Bash, Shell, Python, JavaScript, NodeJS, Ruby or JSON.Experience with Kubernetes, application deployment patterns and cloud-native delivery practices; GitOps or ArgoCD experience is highly regarded.Strong customer engagement, relationship management, communication and collaboration skills, including requirements gathering, delivery planning and stakeholder alignment.Ability to coach others, work effectively in Agile delivery models, and continuously learn new cloud, automation and AI-enabled delivery approaches.
