The role
As our founding Engineering Lead, you own the architecture and build of the Loktta platform — the evaluation, agentic, and governance infrastructure behind trustworthy AI.
This is a hands-on role: you set technical direction, write core code, and grow the engineering team from the ground up.
What you'll do
• Own the architecture of the agentic AI platform: agent runtime, evaluation pipeline, and the on-premise deployment toolkit (Kubernetes-based, air-gapped capable).
• Build core product with your own hands — a builder's role, not just oversight.
• Establish engineering practices: code quality, reviews, CI/CD, testing, and security.
• Design for sovereignty: on-prem / private-cloud deployment, audit logging, and data residency.
• Lead engineering hiring and mentor the team as it scales.
• Partner directly with the founder on product and technical trade-offs.
What we're looking for
• 7+ years building production software, with strength in backend/platform and/or ML systems.
• A track record architecting and shipping complex systems from scratch.
• Depth in one or more of: LLM/agent systems, ML infrastructure, distributed systems, cloud-native/Kubernetes, on-premise deployment.
• Comfortable being hands-on and standards-setting in an early-stage team.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, Kathmandu.
Bonus: model evaluation, RAG, or agent frameworks; open-source contributions; prior startup or founding-team experience; enterprise or government/regulated deployment experience.
