NextChain Solutions BV is looking for a highly experienced Senior Application Engineer / Administrator for a long-term, full-time onsite assignment in The Hague, Netherlands.

🔧 Key ResponsibilitiesThe consultant will be responsible for:
• Installation, configuration and administration of applications across production and non-production environments
• Application monitoring, performance tuning and continuous service improvement
• Application support and maintenance, including incident, change, release and problem management
• Creating and validating application procedures, troubleshooting guides and backup/restore plans
• Automating recurring system administration activities
• Preparing installation, technical support and operational documentation
• Maintaining and developing the technical knowledge base for ICT Operations
• Reporting on application availability, performance, capacity and usage
✅ Mandatory RequirementsWe are looking for a highly experienced professional with 15+ years of overall IT experience and strong hands-on application administration expertise.
The candidate must have:
✔️ 15+ years of IT experience in enterprise/mid-to-large IT environments
✔️ Minimum 6 years working with IT infrastructure, including application deployment, support and maintenance
✔️ Minimum 5 years of experience in Application Administration
✔️ Minimum 2 years working with microservices, container orchestration and container-based technologies
✔️ Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
✔️ Minimum 2 years administering and supporting Elasticsearch
✔️ Minimum 5 years working with enterprise Microsoft and/or Linux server environments
✔️ Strong knowledge of Elasticsearch cluster deployment and administration
✔️ Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, Docker and Rancher
✔️ Good knowledge of configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible and/or Chocolatey
✔️ Strong Shell and/or PowerShell scripting skills
✔️ Good knowledge of ITIL, particularly Incident, Change and Release Management
✔️ English B2 or higher
⭐ Desirable Experience• Public/Hybrid Cloud – Azure or AWS
• DevOps practices
• Relational databases such as MS SQL / PostgreSQL
• Kong API Gateway
• Relevant certifications in the technologies mentioned above
