About the Role
We're hiring a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain the core services behind our financial platform.
You'll work closely with product, infrastructure, and security teams to ship backend systems that are fast, resilient, and built to the standards the financial industry demands.
This role is based on-site in our Palo Alto office.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that support core financial productsWrite clean, well-tested, production-grade Java code for high-throughput, low-latency systemsBuild and optimize integrations with internal services, third-party financial data providers, and payment systemsDesign and maintain relational database schemas; write efficient, optimized SQL queriesParticipate in system design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisionsEnsure services meet the reliability, auditability, and compliance requirements expected in financial softwareTroubleshoot and resolve production issues, including on-call rotation participationCollaborate cross-functionally with product managers, QA, DevOps, and security engineersContribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment automationWhat We're Looking For
3+ years of professional backend development experience, with prior experience in the financial industry (banking, payments, trading, lending, or fintech)Solid understanding of common backend fundamentals: RESTful API design, relational databases (SQL), caching, message queues, and microservice architectureUnderstanding of security and compliance considerations relevant to financial systems (data protection, auditability, PCI-DSS or similar)Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceNice to Have
