About the Role:
The Senior Cloud / DevOps Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, automation, and ongoing support of cloud environments used to deploy and operate client solutions.
The role works across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, networking, identity, security, and application deployment, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
The position is accountable for delivering secure, scalable, repeatable, and supportable cloud solutions across the full lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing production support.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture
Design and implement cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and AWSAnalyse client requirements, existing environments, networking, security, and operational constraintsDevelop secure, maintainable, and repeatable solutions across compute, networking, Kubernetes, identity, storage, observability, and securityIdentify and resolve infrastructure, connectivity, identity, and integration issues across complex client environmentsInfrastructure as Code
Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools, primarily TerraformCreate reusable, version-controlled infrastructure modules and deployment configurationsManage environment-specific configurations across development, test, and production environmentsReview and improve existing Infrastructure as Code for reliability, maintainability, and consistencyKubernetes & Application Deployment
Deploy and operate containerised applications using KubernetesWork with managed Kubernetes platforms including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)Develop and maintain Helm charts and deployment configurationsConfigure and troubleshoot Kubernetes networking, ingress, secrets, storage, identity, and workload permissionsSupport upgrades, configuration changes, and lifecycle management of deployed workloadsCI/CD & Deployment Automation
Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, primarily using Azure DevOpsAutomate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, configuration, and validationIntegrate Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, scripting, and cloud tooling into deployment workflowsImplement appropriate deployment controls, approvals, environment promotion, and release processesDiagnose and resolve failures across automated deployment pipelinesCloud Integration, Identity & Security
Integrate solutions with enterprise identity and access platformsConfigure and troubleshoot cloud networking, including virtual networks, VPCs, subnets, private connectivity, DNS, routing, firewalls, and load balancersWork with Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, AWS IAM roles, and workload identitiesIntegrate workloads with secrets management, container registries, logging, monitoring, and other shared cloud servicesWork within client security, governance, and compliance requirementsApply least-privilege access principles across cloud and Kubernetes environmentsOperational Support & Troubleshooting
Investigate and resolve deployment, infrastructure, application, and integration issuesAnalyse logs, metrics, Kubernetes resources, cloud resources, and pipeline execution to identify root causesSupport production deployments and environment changesImprove observability, diagnostics, operational procedures, and deployment reliabilityIdentify recurring operational issues and automate or engineer them out where practicalTechnical Strategy & Advisory
Provide technical input into cloud architecture, infrastructure design, and implementation decisionsTranslate technical and business requirements into practical implementation approachesCommunicate technical issues, constraints, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholdersBalance engineering best practice with customer requirements, delivery timelines, and operational realitiesClient Enablement and Knowledge Transfer
Work collaboratively with client infrastructure, security, networking, application, and architecture teamsDevelop and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational proceduresFacilitate knowledge transfer to client and internal teamsContribute to reusable delivery patterns, automation, and engineering practices across the organisation
