The opportunity to join our team
We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer – Integration, to lead the delivery of scalable, secure and resilient integration solutions across our enterprise technology environment.
As the technical lead for the Workato platform, you will combine hands-on engineering expertise with architecture leadership, platform governance and stakeholder engagement.
You will establish reusable integration patterns, guide platform adoption and support the modernisation of integrations from legacy middleware to contemporary cloud and iPaaS solutions.
Working closely with architecture, delivery, application and business teams, you will help simplify the technology landscape and improve the speed, consistency and reliability of integration delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Define and maintain enterprise integration standards, reference architectures, governance frameworks and engineering best practices across the Workato platform.Design, develop and maintain complex Workato workflows, including reusable recipes, callable recipes, lookup tables, framework components and custom connectors.Lead integration migration and modernisation initiatives, including the transition of integrations from legacy middleware platforms to Workato.Design secure API-led solutions that support synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven, messaging and file-based integration patterns.Provide technical leadership, mentoring and design assurance to integration engineers while promoting engineering quality and continuous improvement.Establish effective monitoring, logging, alerting and observability, supported by robust error handling, retry, resilience, disaster recovery and performance optimisation practices.Manage deployment and application lifecycle activities across Development, Test, UAT and Production environments, supported by DevOps and CI/CD practices.Partner with internal teams, business stakeholders, vendors and the Platform Owner to support onboarding, governance, roadmap planning, go-live, transition to BAU and major incident resolution
What You Will Bring
8+ years of integration experience, including greenfield implementations, migration programs and the re-platforming of legacy integrations to cloud or iPaaS solutions.Strong hands-on Workato expertise across recipe development, deployment, troubleshooting, monitoring, optimisation and platform operations.Demonstrated technical leadership capability spanning solution design, effort estimation, stakeholder engagement, mentoring and delivery governance.Strong knowledge of integration patterns and technologies, including REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, API-led integration, event-driven architecture, ETL and messaging frameworks.Experience implementing secure and resilient integrations using OAuth, API keys, encryption, secrets management, access controls and other data protection practices.Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP, together with experience integrating SaaS applications and working with MFT protocols such as SFTP and FTPS.Experience applying DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline design and implementation, supported by scripting skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell or JavaScript.Sound knowledge of ITIL practices, incident, problem and change management, SLA management, platform upgrades, disaster recovery planning and production support.
