is seeking a Senior Rust Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe.
Our client is building a cross-platform desktop application that captures OS-level clickstream data and accessibility tree information across Windows and macOS.
The product enables organizations to collect and process desktop activity data while upholding high standards of performance, reliability, privacy, and data integrity.
The technology stack includes Tauri and Rust for the desktop application, with Python and Google Cloud Run on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) supporting backend and data ingestion services.
Requirements
Strong professional experience with Rust.Hands-on experience building desktop applications.Experience with Tauri is strongly preferred; Electron experience is also considered.Experience with Windows UI Automation (UIA) and/or macOS Accessibility (AX) APIs.Strong understanding of application performance optimization and profiling.Experience with testing and preventing performance or functional regressions.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Attention to detail, particularly when working with system-level data collection.
Responsibilities
Optimize application performance, focusing on CPU, GPU, and memory usage.Identify and eliminate duplicate data collection and processing.Design and execute regression and performance testing.Maintain data integrity and prevent data loss during optimization.Develop and maintain the application's auto-update system.Support enterprise deployment through MDM solutions.Improve application reliability across Windows and macOS.Implement PII detection and masking using Microsoft Presidio.Strengthen privacy and security across the data collection pipeline.Improve the desktop application's UX and usability.Troubleshoot complex platform-level issues and contribute to technical improvements.
