The role is based in beautiful offices in the heart of Sydney's CBD, just a short walk from all major train stations. About the role: We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join a growing technology team on a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract, with room for extension. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing, developing and implementing practical AI and Generative AI solutions across the organisation. You will work across the full AI lifecycle, from identifying use cases and solution design through to development, deployment and ongoing optimisation. This role would suit an AI Engineer with strong software engineering foundations who enjoys working across AI, .NET and Microsoft technologies. Key Responsibilities: Design, build and integrate AI and Generative AI solutions, including LLM applications, AI agents, copilots, RAG and document intelligence.Develop and integrate C# / .NET, ASP.NET Core Web APIs and microservices across enterprise applications.Build integrations with REST and OData APIs, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint Online and other business systems.Work with Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft 365 and Power Platform to deliver practical AI capabilities.Develop and maintain AI evaluation frameworks to assess accuracy, safety, reliability and performance.Support the deployment and ongoing optimisation of AI solutions, including monitoring, telemetry and performance management.Work closely with architects, developers, data teams, security and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are secure, scalable and fit for purpose.Contribute to responsible AI practices, ensuring solutions align with relevant security, privacy and governance requirements.Help identify and assess new AI use cases and translate business needs into practical technical solutions.Support the ongoing improvement of AI engineering practices and the adoption of AI technologies across the organisation. Skills & Experience: 2+ years' experience working with .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core Web APIs and SQL.1+ year of hands-on experience delivering production AI or Generative AI solutions.Experience with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, copilots or document intelligence.Strong experience building and integrating REST APIs and microservices.Experience working with Microsoft Azure AI services and the wider Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft Graph and SharePoint Online.Experience with Azure OpenAI, Python, Semantic Kernel, LangChain or similar AI technologies would be highly regarded.Exposure to AI evaluation, monitoring, MLOps/LLMOps and responsible AI practices is advantageous.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.A relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline is preferred.A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.If you're an AI Engineer looking for your next opportunity to work with modern AI technologies and deliver solutions that create real business value, we'd love to hear from you!
