Description

About Us We’re the team behind Agend Membership Platform, Australian-built software for associations and other membership organisations. Agend grew out of iugo, which has been developing websites and business systems in Adelaide since 2004. Our Agend Pro work combines WordPress websites and member portals with CRM integrations and functionality tailored to individual clients. You’ll help deliver these projects, improve existing implementations and connect them with the wider Agend Membership Platform. What you'll be working on We’ve got a growing pipeline of Agend Pro projects and we’re looking for an experienced WordPress developer to help deliver them. WordPress development: Building and extending websites and member portals, including custom plugins, themes and functionality where the project needs them.Integrations: Connecting WordPress with CRMs, third-party services and Agend Membership Platform through APIs and webhooks. That includes working through authentication, data mapping, synchronisation and what happens when something fails.Project delivery: Working with designers, our delivery team and other developers to understand requirements, plan the technical approach and take the work through development, testing and launch.Existing systems: Getting familiar with code you didn’t write, investigating problems and making improvements without breaking what already works. Some projects will use established tools and patterns. Others will need you to work out a new approach. Knowing when to use an existing plugin and when to write custom code is an important part of the job. What we're looking for You’ll need solid commercial WordPress experience and be comfortable owning development tasks without needing every step mapped out. In particular: Strong PHP and WordPress development skills, including custom plugins and an understanding of how WordPress works beneath the admin screens.Experience integrating systems through APIs. You should understand the data flow and be able to troubleshoot it, not just install a connector.Confidence with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and MySQL, including turning designs into responsive, accessible interfaces.Good habits around Git, debugging, testing, security and deployment, and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to the people you’re working with. Experience with CRM platforms, WooCommerce or membership and event systems would be useful. You don’t need to have worked with Agend before. We’re more interested in what you’ve built and how you approach problems than whether you have a particular degree. You must have full working rights in Australia to be considered for this role. Working here You’ll be joining an established Adelaide team, with experienced developers to work through the difficult bits and a delivery team coordinating the projects. You’ll also work alongside the people building Agend Membership Platform, so you can discuss how an integration should work with the team responsible for the other end of it. The role is full-time, based at our Unley office, with flexibility for some work from home. How to apply Apply with your CV and a couple of examples of work you’ve done. Tell us what you were responsible for and describe an integration or technical problem you had to work through. If you have a Github repo you'd like us to check out, please send it through. Your best work might sit behind a login or have no impressive screenshots. That’s fine. A clear explanation of what you built and how it works is just as useful.
