About The Role We are seeking a talented Full-Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team in San Jose. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building the core product surfaces of Hark—the interfaces and experiences that users engage with daily across voice, text, and vision modalities. Your work will directly influence how users perceive and interact with our AI systems, making them feel fast, intuitive, and trustworthy. This is a high-ownership position within a small, agile team, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with designers and model researchers. Your contributions will help bridge the gap between advanced AI capabilities and user trust, shaping the future of human-machine interaction. Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience, ideally within fast-growing AI or consumer product companies. Experience with voice or multimodal interfaces, real-time streaming UI, and building frontend systems for agentic products is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong frontend engineering fundamentals, with a keen eye for creating polished, responsive interfaces that prioritize user experience. A genuine curiosity about AI, especially large language models and agent-based systems, is essential. Additionally, candidates should have a product-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments. Responsibilities Your core responsibilities will include designing and developing the product surfaces that enable users to interact with Hark’s AI agents across voice, text, and vision modalities. You will work closely with designers to ensure interactions are fast, reliable, and genuinely useful, translating conceptual ideas into tangible features. You will own features end-to-end—from initial prototyping and development to deployment and iterative improvement based on real-world usage data. Building frontend components for agent workflows that incorporate tool use, memory retrieval, and multi-step reasoning will be a key focus, ensuring model capabilities are presented coherently and trustworthily to users. Additionally, you will instrument and evaluate your work by tracking quality metrics, gathering user signals, and implementing enhancements to improve overall performance and experience. Benefits Hark offers a competitive compensation package, with the US base salary range for this full-time role between $170,000 and $400,000 annually.
