What you'll do: Own problems end to end: understand the real constraint, decide the approach, ship it, and stand behind it.Build across the full stack in Ruby on Rails, from schema design through the interface.Shape what gets built, not just how. You'll be in the room when we set direction.Work directly with product, design, and the people who use what we make.Raise the bar on the codebase and on the engineers around you. What we're looking for: 3–5 years building and operating production systems, with strong Ruby on Rails depth.Range across the stack: SQL and query performance, background jobs, API design, and enough front-end to finish what you start.The instinct to dig. You debug code you didn't write, read the source when the docs run out, and keep going until you understand the actual cause.Judgment about scope. You know which corners are safe to cut and which ones will cost you in six months.Directness. You'll push back on a plan that doesn't hold up, and you can explain a technical tradeoff to someone who isn't an engineer.A track record of ownership rather than assignment.
