Summary
✨ AI‑Generated
Become one of the first engineers on an AI-driven platform serving families and service providers. You will work directly with leadership, design, and early customers to define the product, make architectural decisions, and turn real-world needs into scalable full-stack experiences. This is an opportunity for a product-minded engineer who wants substantial ownership rather than a ticket-driven development role.
Highlights
High-ownership founding-team role with direct influence over product direction, close collaboration with leadership, design, and early customers, and broad responsibility across the product.
Description
ABOUT CARESEARCH
CareSearch is an AI-powered childcare enrollment platform transforming how families find, apply to, and enroll in
daycare—and how childcare providers manage applications, waitlists, occupancy, and admissions.
Families navigate
fragmented waitlists, outdated information, and manual application processes, while providers often rely on spreadsheets,
phone calls, and disconnected tools.
CareSearch brings both sides together in one intelligent platform, combining a family
marketplace with provider operations and AI-driven matching and predictive vacancy management.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a product-minded full-stack engineer to become one of the first members of the CareSearch team.
This is
not a role where you simply receive tickets and write code.
You will work closely with the founder, designer, and early
customers to define what we build, how we build it, and how it evolves.
You will have significant ownership across the
product—from the parent experience to the provider dashboard, backend infrastructure, data systems, integrations, and
AI-enabled workflows.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
• Build and ship core CareSearch product experiences.
• Develop the family-facing search, application, and enrollment experience.
• Build provider-facing applications, waitlist, occupancy, and admissions workflows.
• Design and implement APIs, backend services, and scalable data models.
• Integrate third-party services for verification, communications, payments, and other workflows.
• Build matching, ranking, and recommendation functionality.
• Develop foundations for predictive vacancy and capacity management.
• Establish engineering practices around testing, security, observability, and deployment.
• Work closely with the UX/Product Designer to translate designs into polished experiences.
• Talk directly with users and customers to understand problems and iterate quickly.
• Help define technical architecture and the engineering roadmap.
• Make pragmatic decisions about when to build, buy, simplify, or experiment.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack development experience.
• Strong proficiency with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React or similar technologies.
• Experience building backend services and APIs.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience deploying and operating production applications in the cloud.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and services.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, security, and data privacy.
• Experience shipping products used by real customers.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
We Especially Value
• Startup or early-stage company experience.
• Marketplace or SaaS experience.
• Experience building workflow-heavy applications.
• Search, recommendation, matching, or ranking systems.
• AI/LLM product experience.
• Data-intensive applications.
• Scheduling, capacity, CRM, or enrollment systems.
• Strong product intuition and a track record of taking ambiguous problems from idea to shipped product.
