Role Description
This is a part-time, remote role, offering flexibility while requiring consistent communication and reliable availability during agreed working hours.
The Junior Cloud Engineer will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure for client projects, focusing on secure and reliable solutions (AWS / Azure).
Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with provisioning and configuring cloud resources, monitoring systems, and contributing to automation scripts and deployment pipelines under guidance from senior engineers.
The role involves working with Windows and Linux-based environments, databases, and cloud platforms to help troubleshoot issues and improve performance.
The Junior Cloud Engineer will collaborate with consulting and engineering teams to document technical work, follow best practices, and continuously develop cloud and security skills.
Qualifications
Foundational skills in cloud computing and infrastructure, with exposure to at least one major cloud provider (e.g.
AWS or Azure).Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux administration and command-line tools, including system monitoring and configuration.Understanding of databases (relational or NoSQL), including simple querying, configuration, and performance awareness.Introductory experience in software development or scripting (e.g., Python, Bash), focusing on automation, tooling, or integration tasks.Interest in secure infrastructure design, cloud security principles, and compliance in regulated or security-sensitive environments.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow documented processes and technical standards.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a remote, distributed team.Relevant education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience; industry certifications in cloud or security (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, CompTIA Security+) are an advantage.
