## About the Role
TÜV NORD Service GmbH & Co.
KG is seeking a System Engineer specializing in Windows and Storage to administer, operate, and further develop enterprise IT infrastructure.
In this role, you will work with Windows Server environments across on-premises data centers and Microsoft Azure Cloud.
You will also support Remote Desktop Services, Azure Virtual Desktop, enterprise storage solutions, virtualization, and data center infrastructure.
The position combines daily infrastructure operations with lifecycle management, troubleshooting, system optimization, documentation, and collaboration with internal teams, external service providers, and technology partners.
## Key Responsibilities
* Administer, operate, and continuously develop Windows Server environments across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments.
* Manage and optimize Windows Remote Desktop Services (RDS), including Session Hosts, Brokers, and Gateway functions.
* Operate and support Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including provisioning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
* Manage HPE GreenLake Cloud Storage solutions, including provisioning, monitoring, and capacity management.
* Perform installation, expansion, replacement, and decommissioning activities for servers and storage within data center environments.
* Plan and implement lifecycle management activities, including patching, upgrades, and migrations.
* Diagnose and resolve incidents at the 2nd and 3rd support levels.
* Maintain accurate documentation of systems, infrastructure, and operational processes.
* Support audits and IT compliance requirements.
* Work closely with internal departments, external service providers, and technology manufacturers such as HPE, Dell, and Cisco.
* Participate in IT service management processes covering incidents, changes, and problems.
## Required Qualifications
* Completed IT training, such as IT Specialist for System Integration, or an equivalent qualification.
* Strong professional experience administering server and storage infrastructure.
* Solid knowledge of Windows Server environments.
* Strong experience with Remote Desktop Services, including Session Hosts, Broker, and Gateway functions.
* Experience operating enterprise storage solutions, ideally HPE GreenLake.
* Basic knowledge of VMware virtualization and data center infrastructure.
* Experience working with ITIL-based operational processes such as Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
* Structured, solution-oriented approach with a high level of personal responsibility.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills in a technical environment.
* Good command of German and English.
