About the Job Our client, a premier global e-commerce and digital services ecosystem, is looking for a highly skilled Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join their Marketplace Expansion Development team.
Guided by a lean organizational mindset, this department builds, operates, and expands high-impact platforms including major online retail channels, civic tax services, and digital ticketing platforms.
In this role, you will design, automate, and manage cloud-native Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments, driving scalable microservices, event-driven architectures, and high-velocity CI/CD delivery pipelines.
You will collaborate within a global engineering squad to continuously refine cloud standards, eliminate performance bottlenecks, and ensure enterprise-level availability and security.
What You Will Be Doing
Cloud Architecture & CI/CD Automation: Design, implement, and maintain scalable GCP infrastructure and automated CI/CD pipelines aligned with fast-moving business requirements.Delivery Process Optimization: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve engineering bottlenecks across existing cloud environments and deployment workflows.Engineering Standards & Innovation: Proactively introduce cloud-native best practices, IaC standards, and innovative automation frameworks.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with multi-disciplinary global squads (Developers, QA, Management) to share technical knowledge and elevate delivery pipelines.System Operations & Support: Monitor, handle technical inquiries, and perform root-cause analysis on GCP infrastructure, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
What We Need To See
DevOps & Software Development Experience: 7+ years of total experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on cloud-native architectures, plus 3+ years of hands-on software development experience (Python, Go, Java, Bash, or Node.js).GCP Infrastructure & IaC: Production experience provisioning core GCP services (GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, VPC, Cloud IAM) using Terraform.Containers & Orchestration: Strong expertise in Docker containerization and GKE/Cloud Run orchestration.CI/CD & Delivery: Deep experience managing pipelines via Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, and Artifact Registry (GitOps/GitHub Actions a plus).Microservices & Messaging: Hands-on experience with distributed microservices, event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Eventarc), and Kafka maintenance on GCP instances.Linux Internals & Advanced Networking: Deep systems knowledge (kernel tuning, system calls, memory management) paired with advanced OSI/networking capabilities (Shared VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, TLS/SSL, HTTP/3).Cybersecurity & Incident Response: Proven track record with Zero Trust, PKI, OAuth2/OIDC, least-privilege IAM, and leading response/RCA for major incident failures in large-scale environments.Soft Skills & Collaboration: Proactive, innovative mindset with a high degree of collaboration and 1+ years of experience working seamlessly in diverse, multicultural team environments.Language Capabilities: Business-level English or above for global team integration, paired with Native or Native-equivalent Japanese proficiency.
